The Week Ahead…

Published on November 5th, 2011

Once again, follow our well laid out plan for your concerting week… we’ll see you there!

FRIDAY NOV.  4th

Who: The Lemonheads

Where: Biltmore Cabaret

When: 8:00PM

Why: They’re performing their classic 1992 album ‘It’s a Shame About Ray’ in it’s entirety! That’s a whole boatload of awesome!

How Much:  13 bucks.  Totally worth the early 90s flashbacks that will occur!  Bring your walkman and make a 90s bootleg!!

SATURDAY NOV. 5th

Who: Adaline

Where: The Biltmore Cabaret

When: 8:00 PM

Why: One of her constant collaborators is Hawksley Workman. Uh-huh, this is going to be sensational!

How Much: 15 bucks at the door. We guarantee this will be sweet pop… not crap pop… like fanta.

SUNDAY NOV. 6th

Who: Deer Tick

Where: Rickshaw

When: 8:00PM

Why: This show is going to be so beastly it was moved from the Electric Owl to the renovated Rickshaw!

How Much: 15 bucks.  If you haven’t checked out the new Rickshaw setup, this is the perfect time to do it.

MONDAY NOV. 7th

Who: GWAR

Where: Commodore Ballroom

When: 7:00

Why: On November 1st, GWAR sadly lost guitarist Cory Smoot (Flattus Maximus).  They are continuing the tour in his honour.

How Much: $32.50.  This could be a very powerful GWAR performance.  Should be an amazing night of solidarity in the memory of Cory.

TUESDAY NOV. 8th

Who: The Barr Brothers and Little Scream

Where: The Electric Owl

When: 8:00PM

Why: The Barr Brothers will provide your cleansing, mellow yet riveting, folk rock after the blood drenched insanity that was GWAR.

How Much: 12 bucks. 2 amazing banda, 1 amazing venue, part with your cash.

WEDNESDAY NOV. 9th

Who: Shred Kelly and Ruskin

Where: The Railway Club

When: 8:00PM

Why: I don’t know much about Shred Kelly, but Ruskin is easily one of the most exciting bands in the lower mainland.  Lead singer Cory Abel, perhaps the best party-starter in the city.

How Much: 5 bucks at the door.  I know, I know, Dan Mangan is here that night too… but me thinks the better value shall be here.
